Created in 2006 with Andrée Putman as patron, Design Parade Hyères aims to share contemporary design with the public and professionals alike. The highlight of the festival is the annual competition, which presents the work of ten young designers, offering them a unique showcase and support.
The festival is also a time for sharing, encounters and discoveries. Ten years after its predecessor, Design Parade Toulon, launched in 2016 with Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec as patrons, pursues the same objectives.
Focused on interior architecture, it is the first competition and festival of its kind in France. In 2019, the Centre Pompidou
and the Toulon Provence Méditerranée Metropolis sign a multi-year agreement to exhibit the national design collections in Toulon, and are joined in 2023 by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Centre national des arts plastiques and the Mobilier national.
Now, every summer, the Villa Noailles organizes Design Parade in two parts: in Toulon for interior architecture and in Hyères for design.
The festival is also an opportunity to explore the heritage of the two neighboring towns, each of which offers an expression of the architectural and decorative wealth of the Metropole and the Var. With this new program, Design Parade offers an extended weekend to explore all aspects of the decorative arts in contemporary creation.
